I've dropped it several times, so I'm wanting to get another similar phone. Personally, I would call them in advance prior to purchasing a phone on my own to verify that it will work, and definitely try to get a transcript of that conversation. Oh yeah, one more thing, the obvious lesson learned. Well, about that Virgin Mobile-packaged Kyocera Hydro Reach I bought off e Bay, it will not work on AW's network. You can't buy it new anywhere except some folks peddling it on e Bay, and that is too "new". Oh, and to top off what a complete screw-up AW is, the sweet New Delhian suspended my service, as if I had lost my phone. I clearly explained that my phone (an older VM Samsung pay Lo) and service were fine, but the battery was no longer holding a lasting charge, hence the need for another phone.

This statement is in the AW FAQs:"The ZTE Quest is the recommended compatible Android smartphone that can be used on Assurance Wireless at this time. The friendly yet difficult to comprehend rep promised to send me a phone, a smart phone, to arrive within 7-10 days. Fortunately, I was able to restore it online.ughhhh!!!

Because if you REALLY were in a position like I am, you would be thanking God that you got the phone.

Sorry to hear about all of your issues; it definitely sounds super frustrating!

I have a list of providers; there's a link below, or you can use the menu above and find it under the FREE Service section. They (Assurance Wireless) sent me 2 phones within 6 or 7 months. After about 1 year I called and bought a flip phone for .95, and it is not any better. I GOT A FRAUD ALERT ON MY VERY LIMITED CREDIT CARD!!! I am retired & living on 0 a month after I pay for my high dollar health insurance.,,,, Medicare & a supplement that goes up every year....going to have to drop it & I have many, many health probs, too! I have a small savings to pay for homeowners & car insurance & taxes, so, I can't get any help except for my heating bill, which is NOT paid for by our wonderful govt. I had to get a different phone due to the freebie not working....tried 3 of them, BUT..... I've dropped it several times, so, might have to get another one day! I'm interested to buy a compatible phone for the assurance wireless plan to replace my unreliable paylo dumb phone, but the smart phones they recommend seem to be outdated or out of production. Unfortunately, this isn't unusual across all industries.

I just lost my job of 22 years ON MY BIRTHDAY because I didn't return to work fast enough.

I am a senior citizen and have a lot of health issues and no one is going to hire me.

With all the crap Assurance gives almost everyone, who can we complain to about them! It really is annoying how inconsistent they are with respect to what phones are compatible.

After 3 crap phones, I bought my own which was compatible. Kyocera Contact.... on clearance at the time from Kmart..- phone. And since they discontinued pay Lo, it has become even more ambiguous. We're talking about a phone that is already yesterday's trash.
